The Hive at Kew Gardens
Opened 18 June
The Hive was the centrepiece of the UK Pavilion 2015 at the Milan Expo. Inspired by a giant beehive at the centre of a wildflower meadow, the installation has multi-sensory elements responding to real-time activity of bees in the beehive at Kew, giving visitors an insight into the life inside a bee colony. There are around 1000 LED lights dotted around its core which glow and fade while a unique soundtrack hums and buzzes around you. Visit the website for more information.
