Introducing Henry

Project Co-Ordinator at YS New York

Henry Rolnick is a recent addition to our NYC team where he keeps our projects on track as Project Co-Ordinator. Henry is also a talented textile artist and weaver. We caught up with Henry to find out more about what inspires him.

Who have you worked with?

L'Oreal, Google, Nike

Iconic design moment?

Pipilotti Rist: Pour Your Body Out (7354 Cubic Meters) at the Museum of Modern Art, NYC in 2008. Rist had covered the floor in carpet, the massive walls in video projections, and the space with hauntingly beautiful sound. The space invited people to take their shoes off and sit or lie down to soak up the large-scale technicolor projections of slow-motion movement through grass, and this gorgeous music that evoked dreams.  I had never seen anything like it before, and as a budding artist I was incredibly inspired.  In the middle of New York city, that anyone and everyone had the invitation to remove their shoes and relax into the space just felt code-breaking and revolutionary to me.

What inspires you?

The language that brands use to translate their identity and offering, which is now present everywhere we turn, provides fascinating insight into what makes humans tick. I'm interested in the meeting point between brand influence and human needs - which one comes first?  Are they creating one another?  Chicken or egg?

Best part of your job?

Easy - the people I get to work with on a daily basis. YourStudio does not miss.  The people I share my desk with are just the best - I consistently feel inspired and supported by the team we have built, and I know that anyone I work with here will bring seamless execution along with, for lack of a better term, fantastic vibes.
